Bio

Bio:

McKenzie began her athletic career at the age of six. She started out training at a local gymnastics facility and quickly realized tumbling was her favorite part. She wasn’t quite sure where this talent would take her but after training with several tumbling coaches, she decided to try competition cheer in Middle/ High School. While visiting ACX in Irmo, SC, McKenzie was asked to try out for their level 5 All-Star competition team. Given she was not experienced in competitive All-Star Cheer, she was completely floored when selected to compete on their World’s team. Unfortunately, 6 months into practice, she suffered a complete Mencius and ACL tear. Although the injury was devasting and considered career ending, McKenzie was determined to return to her sport. After a year of recovery and rehab she successfully went on to compete in cheer her final year of high school. McKenzie was also voted “Most Athletic” by her high school peers which is one of her proudest accomplishments.

McKenzie wasn’t quite finished with cheer, she tried out and made the Coastal Carolina University Cheer Team. That same year she was honored to participate at College Cheer National’s in Daytona, Florida after CCU won the bid. She was also given the "Top Tumbler" medal from her coach at the end of the year.

At an early age, McKenzie was obsessed with dance, cheer and tumbling. She has dedicated many years educating and perfecting her skills. She was raised in her parent’s gym and was part of two successful startup tumbling/cheer businesses. McKenzie is AACCA Spirit/ Safety Certified and is excited to pass on her knowledge/ instruction through her new business, RTC Tumbling & Cheer.
